PRF for Libido & Sexual Wellness — Women Only

Adjunctive, individualized care. PRF (platelet-rich fibrin) is prepared from your own blood and forms a fibrin matrix that gradually releases growth factors. In women’s sexual wellness, PRF is used as an adjunct to support local tissue health, blood flow, comfort, and sensitivity as part of a comprehensive plan.

How PRF Is Used in Women’s Sexual Wellness

Following assessment, a small blood draw is processed to obtain PRF (no anticoagulant additives). PRF is then injected into selected areas using sterile technique. For comfort, lidocaine is injected into the clitoral complex prior to PRF injections when the clitoral complex is being treated. Visit length is typically 45–60 minutes.

Adjunctive Care

How the Process Works

  1. Consult & Assessment — We review concerns across desire, arousal, lubrication/comfort, orgasm, and satisfaction; health history; medications; pelvic factors; and goals to determine suitability.
  2. Preparation — A ~60 cc blood draw is processed to obtain PRF. Injection sites and volume are chosen based on your goals and anatomy.
  3. Anesthesia — For comfort, lidocaine is injected into the clitoral complex before PRF when treating that region.
  4. Application — PRF is injected into selected areas (e.g., anterior vaginal wall or clitoral complex). The visit typically takes 45–60 minutes.
  5. Aftercare — Gentle activity is usually fine the same day. Temporary fullness, tenderness, or minor spotting/bruising can occur.
  6. Series & Monitoring — Many choose a short series (e.g., 1–3 sessions spaced 4–8 weeks apart). Follow-up reviews progress and next steps.

Risks & Considerations

  • Temporary soreness, swelling, bruising, or spotting at injection sites
  • Rare: infection, vasovagal symptoms, local nodule/induration
  • Anesthetic considerations: lidocaine reactions are uncommon but possible; we screen for allergies and dose carefully

We review individualized risks, expected course, and when to seek care.

Eligibility

  • Not performed with active infection, poorly controlled bleeding disorders, significant anemia, or during pregnancy
  • Anesthetic allergies and oncology history are reviewed case-by-case

Suitability depends on assessment, goals, anatomy, and risk profile. Non-procedural options are always discussed.
