PRF for Libido & Sexual Wellness — Women Only

PRF (platelet-rich fibrin) is prepared from your own blood and forms a fibrin matrix that gradually releases growth factors. In women’s sexual wellness, PRF is considered an adjunctive option that may support local tissue health, blood flow, comfort, and sensitivity as part of a comprehensive plan.

How the Process Works
  1. Consult & Assessment — We review concerns across desire, arousal, lubrication/comfort, orgasm, and satisfaction; health history; medications; pelvic factors; and goals to determine suitability.
  2. Preparation — A 60cc blood draw is processed to obtain PRF (no anticoagulant additives). Injection sites and volume are chosen based on the presentation.
  3. Anesthesia — For comfort, lidocaine is injected into the clitoral complex prior to PRF injections.
  4. Application — PRF is injected into selected areas (e.g., anterior vaginal wall or clitoral complex) using sterile technique. The visit typically takes ~45–60 minutes.
  5. Aftercare — Gentle activity is usually fine the same day. Temporary fullness, tenderness, or minor spotting/bruising can occur.
  6. Series & Monitoring — Many benefit from a short series (e.g., 1–3 sessions spaced 4-8 weeks apart).
  7. Safety & Contraindications — Not performed with active infection, poorly controlled bleeding disorders, significant anemia, or during pregnancy. Anesthetic allergies and oncology history are reviewed case-by-case.

*Autologous procedure; individual responses vary. Technique and candidacy are individualized.

1 Who It May Help
  • Low arousal/desire or reduced local sensitivity
  • Genitourinary syndrome of menopause (GSM): dryness/comfort concerns (adjunctive)
  • Postpartum or age-related tissue changes impacting comfort (adjunctive)

Suitability depends on assessment, goals, anatomy, and risk profile. Non-procedural options are always discussed.

2 What People Often Report
  • Gradual shifts in sensitivity and arousal
  • Improved lubrication/comfort in GSM-related dryness (adjunctive)
  • Enhanced tissue quality over weeks as PRF remodels

Timelines vary; a series may be needed before changes are noticeable.

3 Risks & Side Effects
  • Temporary soreness, swelling, bruising, or spotting at injection sites
  • Rare: infection, vasovagal symptoms, local nodule/induration
  • Anesthetic considerations: lidocaine reactions are uncommon but possible; we screen for allergies and dose carefully

We review individualized risks, expected course, and when to seek care.
