Our mission at MICROCELL SCIENCES INC is to compliment the services offered by Naturopathic Doctors and Practitioners. Our team of live blood cell analysts, trained by Shannon Gregory, are dedicated to helping Naturopathic Doctors and Practitioners develop a unique, highly specialized and holistic treatment plan for their clients.
With a simple drop of blood drawn painlessly from the tip of a finger, we are able to see the integrity of our patients’ cells through the use of high-resolution dark field microscopy. Our specialists have been trained to identify conditions such as parasites, yeast, inflammation, vitamin and mineral deficiencies, acidity, dehydration, stress, allergies, toxin overload and many others.
Symptomatology alone is not enough to accurately assess a clients’ well being. Through blood cell analysis, urine and metal testing, we are able to provide the Practitioner with a detailed report which gives them the confidence to make recommendations to improve the health of their clients.
Each visit is 45 minutes long. The client is tested and provided with a visual interpretation of their blood status. At the end of every appointment, the client is provided with a detailed report of our findings, handouts and high-resolution photos of their blood. Clients are able to book 15 to 30 minute follow-up visits to see and track their progress. We have found this method to be highly motivating and engaging for both the client and Naturopathic Doctor or Practitioner.

Meet Laura Hughes

Laura Hughes CNP, CNE, LBA
Laura is an Honours graduate of the Institute of Holistic Nutrition and the Academy of Culinary Nutrition. To complement her nutrition education she trained as a Live Blood Cell Microscopic Analyst. She also holds a Bachelor of Arts in Family Science from the University of British Columbia, as well as, a Diploma in Early Childhood Education.
Laura combines her love of children and family with her passion for healthy living, holistic nutrition and human connection. She began her nutrition journey when she had her children. All four were born with different food sensitivities and health issues, so Laura had to learn how to feed and support them to help them thrive. She now uses her education and her own family experience raising four food-sensitive children to compassionately support families to take charge of their health.
After completing her education in nutrition, Laura was introduced to live blood cell analysis – an amazing tool that quickly determines nutritional deficiencies, malabsorption issues, sugar imbalances, the presence of damaging bacteria and parasites as well as yeast, candida and other fungus. Laura used live blood cell analysis to help her family stay on track with their health and then trained to become an analyst herself with Microcell. Laura incorporates Live Blood Cell Analysis in her practice as it offers instant feedback for her clients and a great starting point for their specific targeted nutrition plans.
Laura offers Live Blood Cell Analysis, one-on-one nutrition coaching, manageable meal plans, easy cooking lessons, grocery store tours and lots of healthy time-saving tips for busy families. She enjoys working with people of all ages to support them on their health journey.
